THE PROBLEMS WE'RE SOLVING, THE CULTURE WE'RE PRACTICING ✨

Ovia Health's mission is to improve lives for women and families, which is a mantra that permeates throughout the entire organization - from the product team all the way to the internal operations team. We're flipping the women's health industry on its head by making clinically accurate information accessible to women all over the US, and saving large employers millions of dollars on health insurance costs by reducing preterm births and other complications that arise during the fertility and pregnancy journey.

Our mission-driven focus coupled with our majority-female and majority-millennial team has created an open, transparent, welcoming, inclusive, and people-first culture that is hard to replicate.

HEALTHY VALUES

Champion women πŸ’ͺ🏾
We advocate for the health and wellbeing of women and families through our products and services. We relentlessly seek to further women’s equality and empowerment in our business, in our communities, and in the world.

Live for users 🎯
We exist to serve our users and customers. We put them at the center of every decision we make and everything we create. We’re consumed by their objectives and their journeys.

Exude passion πŸ’œ
We love what we do. We are here to make a positive difference in the world. Our passion, dedication, and pride inspire our users, clients, and team.

Lead with data πŸ“Š
We use data and evidence to make decisions, tell our story, and improve lives. Through data collection and analysis we continuously improve our processes, products, and services. We communicate data thoughtfully and accurately, always.

Embrace diversity 🌏
We value and welcome different ideas, perspectives, and backgrounds. We believe that innovation can come from anywhere and anyone. So, be yourself and get involved.

Do more with less βš–οΈ
We continuously look for better ways to solve problems, capitalize on opportunities, and improve the ways we work. We have a bias toward efficiency and invest company resources as we would our own.

THE 🟀 MEANING βšͺ️ OF 🟣 DIVERSITY

To us, diversity means being able to represent every part of the communities that we serve. Our users are people trying to start families all over the United States, coming from all walks of life, races, ethnicities, gender expression, income level, and access to medical care and clinically accurate information. If we don't have folks representing each of these very important groups making decisions about our product and our business, we aren't doing our jobs correctly.

EQUITY IN OUR COMMUNITY

To us, equity means improving health outcomes for the Ovia Community, closing the gap on health disparities experienced by BIPOC, and maintaining our reputation as a leading organization working to make our services and solutions representative, impactful, and inclusive. We employ this mindset internally as well, and approach every employee's experience with humanity, flexibility, and compassion in order to keep Ovia an equitable place to work for everyone.

INCLUSIVITY IS KEY πŸ”‘

It is crucial to us at Ovia that every employee feels that they are able to bring their full selves to work. We work hard to foster an inclusive environment that encourages all of us to stay educated, ask questions, and deliver feedback safely and as part of our day-to-day job descriptions.

We have a company-wide Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiative with representatives from leadership as well as every department, whose responsibility it is to incorporate inclusive thinking into every internal and external decision being made at Ovia.

LEADERSHIP ENCOURAGES TRANSPARENCYπŸ‘‚πŸ½πŸ‘‚πŸ»πŸ‘‚

We have built an open, transparent culture that allows us to discuss important issues as a group, such as systemic racism, alternative types of families and pronouns, and the struggles of being a working parent. Our leaders encourage feedback about our performance in these areas, and have a track record of turning the feedback into action.

Ovia is a pretty flat organization without much hierarchy, which allows for us to really practice our 'open door policy'. This means that anyone can put time on the CEO's (or any other senior leader's) calendar to discuss their health, happiness, and goals, and can leave feeling assured that these issues are taken into consideration when internal company goals and decisions are being formed.

Our whole leadership team is also open to mentorship and coaching of any kind, and many employees have taken advantage of their expertise and support outside of their daily interactions with their direct managers.

MAKING CHANGE IS CONTINUOUS πŸ”„

We view this work as a continuous cycle that starts with an inclusive, intentional, and bias-reduced hiring process, and requires intention and care to craft an inclusive, supportive, and empowering work environment that makes our diverse talent want to stay. We are committed to transparency and a growth mindset from our leadership and HR teams, and find ways to promote and uplift underrepresented voices throughout the company in decision-making, product road-mapping, and advocating for our users.
